Gallery Central has been an integral component of the local arts community in Hot Springs since it opened in 2003. Original owner, Bess Sanders, started the gallery out of her passion for fine art, and the gallery has been growing ever since. New owner, Laura Scott, purchased the gallery in early 2016. With more than 35 artists represented, Gallery Central features diverse styles and mediums from both Arkansas artists and internationally known artists. Artists featured at Gallery Central have had their art showcased in colleges and hospitals all over the world, as well as the private collections of stars like Jacqueline Kennedy and Steve McQueen. Gallery Central is known to be an exciting place to visit and welcomes seasoned art collectors, novice art collectors, and casual art fans alike.
Gallery Central owner, Laura Scott, has always been a lover of art. Between having an artist mother and being an artist herself, she is truly living her passion by being the owner of Gallery Central. Laura grew up in Little Rock, AR, and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. After a few years of teaching, she became a stay at home mom, while still keeping plenty of creative projects. She owned a successful faux painting business called The Iron Monkey and has sold commissioned art pieces over the years. Prior to owning Gallery Centrall, she managed it for five years. She is proud that Gallery Central represents internationally known artists who are not only talented, but supportive of the arts in Hot Springs. She especially loves the interactions she gets to have with art patrons on a daily basis.
