Sarah was born in Little Rock, AR in 1978 and currently lives in Jonesboro, AR. She holds a B.F.A. from Arkansas State University with an emphasis in sculpture. She is working on her master's degree and teaches full private lessons in stained glass from her home studio. Having worked in stained glass since she was twelve years old, she decided to make it a part of her sculptures. She spent one full summer studying art in Florence, Italy. Sarah states she is the only person in the world doing the kind of sculpture that she does. Her sculptures are wall mountable and has some that are free standing. Her largest work was an installation of approximately 20 x 40 x 15 ft. This work hung from the ceiling and weighed over 750 lbs, and was all glass and lead. Her work speaks for itself and is better appreciated in person, much the same as a church window.
Sarah states that she works in stained glass in a very unconventional way and that she is the only person in the world working with this type of glass in the third dimension. She feels that glass is a very powerful medium, It brings to mind the beautiful windows of ancient churches. In this regard, she feels it conveys to the viewer a sense of spirituality and a connection to the piece of art. The play of light and shadows through the glass tends to put an array of beautiful light on the wall where the sculpture is hung. She always strives to strike the viewer with abstract expressionism.
