SANDY
HUBLER
Growing up in Mountain
Home, Sandy Hubler is a native of Arkansas. Sandy works in pastel and
oils. Her preferred subjects are landscapes, wildlife and animal images in
an early impressionism style. She also enjoys painting the female figure
in a subtle way of leaving something for the imagination.
“Art has always come easily to me. Because I was always drawing, my father
nicknamed me Doodles, so I named my studio Doodles Fine Art in honor of
him.” In third grade, she won first place and a one dollar prize in an art
competition. She entered every year and eventually received an Art
Scholarship to Arkansas State University. Sandy credits much of her growth
to ASU mentor Roger Carlisle.
Preferring to work in large formats, her work ranges in size up to five
feet in width and eight feet in length to a smaller size of 24 inches. “I
carry a 35mm camera with me wherever I go always looking for interesting
light, shadows and images. I love to work in strong, vibrant colors. I
like to bring back fond memories and create images that are pleasing to
the eye.”
Hubler currently lives in Alexander with husband Robert. When not
participating in art shows and competitions, Hubler is training horses and
competing in barrel racing throughout the mid-south.
