Born in Texas, raised in Arkansas, Sandy
(Giese) Bennett now resides in El Dorado. Her artwork has
been juried in numerous national competitions and has earned
a number of awards. Her work hangs in several private and
corporate settings and galleries. She recently had a painting
chosen for the 2008 Paint the Parks Mini 50 exhibit.
After
a career as an elementary teacher, Sandy took a 16 year
hiatus to raise her own two children. She ten went back
to school to become a high school art teacher. In 2002,
she decided that it was time to focus on her own artistic
talents. She now divides her time between painting sets
for local theatre productions, and following her desire
to create. Her primary love is watercolor, but she has joined
a plein air oil group and loves the travel and outdoor painting.
Sandy enjoys experimenting with different techinques and
mediums. "Everyday is another step on an amazing journey."
