| Michael
began drawing and painting at an early age. He went to school
in Wynn and then attended ASU where he studied art. Even
though his interests sometimes went into different fields,
Michael always kept in touch with his love for art. Michael
married and moved to Jonesboro in 1995. Soon after he formed
the Michael Ethridge Band, a well known group in the area.
Michael Ethridge has been a professional musician and is
an artist, he finds that music and art go hand in hand.
Michael's
oil portrait of Clara was used by the Jonesboro Foundation
of Arts to promote their 2005 production of the "Nutcracker
Ballet". Most of the pieces he creates are abstracts
with bold and vibrant colors on large canvasses. The Baldwin
Piano Company commissioned Michael to custom paint a grand
piano for a new luxury line of pianos for them. Michael's
"Piano in B Minor" was the first of the commissioned
pianos to sell and is now in Shanghai, China. Michael's
work will be seen in an upcoming movie, "Northin But
the Truth" with Matt Dillion, Kate Beckinsale and Angela
Bassett. A director for the film walked in a gallery in
Memphis and bought three of Michael's pieces and two of
another artist.
Michael's
