Marjorie Stone is a native of North Little Rock, AR. She
is a member of the Arkansas League of Artists and the Saline
County Art Guild. Marjorie has studied with Janie Crain
and Blanche Lenon and has participated in workshops with
local and nationally known artists including Stanley Rames,
Bob Rohm and Ovita Goolsby.
Marjorie
has participated in local and regional art shows with many
solo exhibitions and has won many awards. Marjorie's paintings
are found inpersonal
collections in the United States, Great Britain and Germany.
Marjorie's
large works are of abstracts and still life. Her minatures
in oil are original art done in small scale and are featured
at Gallery Central.
Oil
is her favorite medium, although she occastionally paints
in other mediums. She says, "Painting is a wonderful,
expressive outlet. When I am at my easel, the world disappears
and I live in that peaceful place created on canvas. My
work leans toward realism but I want to explore other
avenues
of art and continue to grow."
