JUDY LYNCH SMITHEY
The
spirit of the physical world is the source of Judy Lynch
Smithey’s inspiration. The character of a living thing,
ever changing, intrigues her. Never
feeling obligated to make biological renderings, she tries
to capture the essence of the subject. Sometimes overlooked
in the routine of life, is a world where color and light
dance to a sensual rhythm. Shapes and shadows weave
interlocking patterns and textures add tactile delights.
“In
quiet places I find true contentment. The song and
color of a bird, flower garden or the peace of a beach is
the source of my passion. The subject dictates the
medium I choose, my impression of me transitory realities
of nature is what I strive for. While nature’s
beauty cannot be captured by artists’ brush, my goal is
to bring the viewer in for a closer look.”
