Janis is a lifelong resident of Little Rock,
Arkansas. She began studying watercolor with artist Vicki
Kovalski. Shifting her forcus primarily to oil, she has
studied with Barry Thomas, Doug Correll, Kevin Kresse, Craig
Srebnik, and German impressionist, Gido Frick.
Many
of her paintings are scenes of her travels in her home state
of ARkansas, other areas of the United States and Mexico.
Europe, however, has always been especially appealing to
her. The beautiful French and Italian countrysides and the
charming villages are a frequent subject of her paintings.
Janis
and Dan, her husband of 38 years, have two married sons,
Chris and Ben, and two grandchildren, Zachary and Ava.
