Charles Peer is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and is represented by Gallery Central. His work has recently been in the publication "Best of American Pastel Artists" and he just finished a month as Artist-in-Residence for the Buffalo National River. He has painted during the Garvan Woodland Gardens Invitation Plein Air Event, "Beauty and the Brush" for he loves to capture nature at it's best.

"It is the discoveries that come from the unexpected turns in the road that inspire me,"Charles stated. "My artwork today does not look like my paintings from five years ago nor the work from ten years before that, but when viewed in sequence, there has been a steady progression of artistic growth on the path that has led to the work presented in this exhibit. This development has been my journey. For me there have been many discoveries along this road, some technical, some philosophical and some self-discovery, but the journey has always been interesting."

Peer has the ability to capture the magnificent color and light of familiar places that are often missed because we tend to look for the grand and majestic scenes. This gift has led him to teach and serve as a guest artist for many area demonstrations and to work as a juror for numerous regional competitions.

Charles Peer will be in attendance at Gallery Central during Gallery Walk Friday, July 2nd.
