Artist Statement

With each phase of life our awareness and understanding deepens, broadens, and becomes increasingly more accountable to the spiritual responsibilities that our lives are meant to manifest.

It is not enough to fulfill our own personal agenda. Life comes with the necessity to affect good and help enhance the awareness of all our fellow human beings.

In every moment of every day we have the ability to change instantaneously. Through our ability to be aware and in the moment, we can perceive the needs of others. The commonality that connects us to each other enables us to reach out and help, reach out and teach, reach out and heal. It is imperative that we do this for each other. We are all we have.

My paintings reflect the moment to moment fragility of life, its impermanence, imperfections and the concept of "not-self."
